I am a community arts practitioner and visual artist of English-Iraqi heritage.
I studied illustration at University of Brighton and joined community arts and domestic theatre company, ExploreTheArch in 2022.
Within the ExploreTheArch Collective, I lead an Early Career team of creatives in making steps to becoming equality change-makers and raising the profiles of Gen Z voices in the cultural sector.
Through my community practice and working with diverse groups of people, I have developed a key interest in using creativity as a political tool. My practice focuses on using art and the power of people to address current social, political and humanitarian issues across the world.
I am also the co-founder of Leave the Light on. A creative aid project in partnership with humanitarian activist Hadeel Ameer in Gaza, Palestine.
